Where the revision actually is

Things about the next edition of ISO 9001 get repeated confidently that are not settled, and one thing that is settled hardly gets mentioned at all. This page holds what is actually known, and says plainly where the answer is that nobody has given.

• What that does and does not mean It is ISO's plan, at ISO's own stage 60.00 — not an event that has happened. Until the record reads “published”, the edition in force is still ISO 9001:2015.

Transition deadline

None has been set

Nobody has set one. Transition arrangements arrive as a numbered mandatory document from the accreditation body — that is how the last several revisions were handled — and none exists for this edition. The IAF, which used to issue them, ceased operations on 1 January 2026 and merged with ILAC into Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated, whose single recognition arrangement replaces both of the old ones. Global ACI has not published the mandatory document that would set a deadline. Any date you have seen for this is somebody's estimate, not a rule.
